  • Images: Photos uploaded for ingredient scanning are processed in real-time and not stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Generate personalized recipes based on your ingredients and preferences.
  • Save your favorite recipes and dietary settings across sessions.
  • Display community-shared recipes and eBooks.
  • Improve our AI recipe generation quality.
  • Send important service updates (no marketing emails without consent).

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Firestore Security Rules to ensure users can only access their own personal data. Community recipes and eBooks are publicly viewable by design.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini AI: For recipe generation. Ingredient data is sent to Google's API for processing.
  • Firebase: For database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Unsplash: For recipe imagery.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to save your theme preference, dietary selections, and favorite recipes for a seamless experience. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal data at any time.
  • Export your saved recipes.
  • Request complete account deletion.
  • Opt out of any data processing beyond core functionality.

7. Children's Privacy

DinnerForToday is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
